Rufous Night Heron

This Rufous Night Heron recorded breeding were failed at serasa in 1988. 
Thank goodness it came back and breed successfully in Brunei river since 2012 till now. The numbers increase during winter migration and now they breeding together with Black-crowned Night Heron, Striated Heron and other egrets species. latest sighting were the chinese pond heron at the Rufous night heron breeding ground.

Eyebrowed thrush


Eyebrowed thrush is my first time seeing this winter visitor. Apparently they are on their way to Mulu cave montane forest but stop over in the lowland forest of Brunei forest food. This photo was taken first week of December 2014 lowland forest edge. They were half a dozen feeding on fallen berries and forest snail. i manage to get few photo as they not just shy but keeping moving around in search for food.
the group only stay for few days before continuing their journey to mulu cave montane forest.
I am not sure if they stopping by at the same place or not but i am keen to find out december 2015.
