Asian Paradise Flycatcher is one of Brunei forest bird in Labi. Instead of searching for Crestless fireback the Asian Paradise Flycatcher seem to be more common but good lighting are difficult in primary forest.
Some local ethnic in Brunei dislike Asian Paradise Flycatcher. They say seeing the bird mean someone close relative may be sick or have a serious accident.

Helmeted hornbill

Have been observing the behavior of the Helmeted hornbill and its foods.
Still not able to photograph the young helmeted hornbill which i notice
3-parents with one young however another 2-parents both have 2-young.
The young seem prey on large insects, and squirrels. The family turn to feed on the ripe fig fruits once its ripen.
I have not seen Helmeted calling on their feeding tree unlike Rhinoceros hornbill.
After ongoing hunting pressure and habitat loss, the helmeted hornbill was uplisted from near threatened to critically endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species in 2015. It is listed in Appendix I of CITES.
