BE EXPECTED OF THE UNEXPECTED BRUNEI NATURE
19-months in searching finally succeeded to photograph the Orange Back Woodpecker on a durian tree. This give me the opportunity to learn their behavior. Photo taken with low light weather are cloudy and its rain 35 minutes after that.

Helmeted hornbill

Helmeted hornbill
BE EXPECTED OF THE UNEXPECTED BRUNEI NATURE
Have been observing the behavior of the Helmeted hornbill and its foods.
Still not able to photograph the young helmeted hornbill which i notice 3-parents with one young however another 2-parents both have 2-young.
The young seem prey on large insects, and squirrels. The family turn to feed on the ripe fig fruits once its ripen.
I have not seen Helmeted calling on their feeding tree unlike Rhinoceros hornbill.

After ongoing hunting pressure and habitat loss, the helmeted hornbill was uplisted from near threatened to critically endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species in 2015. It is listed in Appendix I of CITES.
